I was looking for someone to help my husband move forwards with his rehabilitation following a stroke about 3 years ago. I found Exeter Neuro online and thought Ali would be the right person to work with him. When we first spoke I just knew she and Mark would be "a good fit"! Ali has been working with him for a little while now and we've been so impressed with how Ali has always been so kind, positive and encouraging whilst finding just the right approach with a combination of home visits and hydrotherapy. Ali has been really committed to working with Mark towards his personal goals and takes his activity preferences into consideration when structuring his sessions. Mark's walking technique has improved and Ali has helped him achieve his goal of being able to swim again and is working with him on improving his swimming style.
Working with Ali, I have found her to be extremely knowledgeable in her specialism of Stroke rehabilitation.
I was a bit apprehensive about working with someone new and I had no need to be concerned. Ali has a very cheerful and kind personality. I find her to be very encouraging also a good listener when things seem to me to be slowing with my recovery. We work towards my own personal goals and her experience and expertise help to define the most beneficial exercises for me to master and meet those goals.
As we know you only get the results from putting in the effort and as I want to make a great recovery I work very hard between each session.
I cannot recommend working with Ali highly enough and if you’re wondering whether you want to work with a specialist to help you to achieve the results that you want I would recommend Ali without hesitation.
It is now nearly 2 months since Ali prescribed exercises for me. She first gave me a thorough assessment of my movements and talked through my particular problems, requirements and general health. The pain in my hip, which was my main worry, has completely disappeared. My knee pain is still intermittent but has not recently kept me awake at night, which it was starting to do. I don’t always manage to do as many exercises as recommended, but the improvement to my hip and knee joint is very apparent and I shall endeavour to continue with my exercises. Thank you Ali.
Ali is the most sensitive and helpful teacher. Being new to this, I was apprehensive, but she put me at my ease and is so encouraging and reassuring. I've had 3 sessions so far and can already feel the difference. I would strongly recommend her classes!! Go Ali!!!
A very enjoyable and friendly class. Ali gives clear information on the purpose of each exercise with good demonstrations. I find some exercise hard on my neck and an alternative is always suggested. It is great to have a teacher who corrects our positions when necessary to help us achieve the greatest benefit from the classes.
I always leave the class feeling relaxed and better attuned to my posture!
Ali’s Pilates sessions are one of the highlights of my week. Ali creates a warm, friendly, supportive and relaxing atmosphere and is inclusive of all levels of ability.
The classes are easy to follow with gentle, encouraging corrections where needed. What I most appreciate about these classes is the focus on mindful practise.
Ali’s direction has helped enormously with my alignment, posture and deeper understanding of the breath. In addition to Pilates, I enjoy running. These classes are very complimentary to assist with core strengthening. I can really feel the benefits and in turn I’m running stronger and feel great!

We are all very lucky to have a Pilates teacher who is also a very good and dedicated Physio.
She explains every move clearly and as it is a small class, Ali can support each one of us.
When I leave her class, I feel that I have had a work out, but mostly feel very relaxed and very happy within myself.
If you suffer from anxiety or depression like I do, I would strongly recommend joining her Pilates sessions.
Ali has also a great sense of humour and a lovely personality.

Highly recommended Pilates classes in Exeter. Ali is attentive to everyone's needs and progress, and her classes are fun too. She is also a physio, knowing her stuff, her approach is gentle and my body felt the difference already after few classes.
